Guru Dutt (born Vasanth Kumar Shivashankar Padukone) was a legendary Indian film director, producer, actor, and choreographer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of cinema, best known for ushering in the golden age of Hindi cinema with poetic and artistic masterpieces like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, and Chaudhvin Ka Chand.
