Kylie Jenner
Media Personality, Businesswoman, Model
Born August 10, 1997 in Los Angeles, California
Biography
Kylie Kristen Jenner is an American media personality, businesswoman and model who became famous as a child on the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians and went on to build a billion-dollar beauty business.[1][3] Born in Los Angeles on 10 August 1997, she is the youngest daughter of Olympic decathlon champion Caitlyn Jenner and the television personality and businesswoman Kris Jenner, and a member of the Kardashian-Jenner family.[1][3] She is the founder of Kylie Cosmetics, which began as a small line of lip kits in 2015 and was later part-sold to the cosmetics company Coty.[1][5]
Forbes named her the youngest self-made billionaire ever in 2019, but in 2020 the magazine reported that documents from the deal showed Kylie Cosmetics had overstated its value, and her estimated net worth was revised downwards.[3][5] Today she is generally estimated to be worth roughly US$670 to US$750 million, which makes her one of the wealthiest members of her family and one of the richest people under 30 in the world.[12] Besides cosmetics she has built the skincare brand Kylie Skin, the children's range Kylie Baby, the clothing label Khy and the beverage brand Sprinter, and she has more than 390 million followers on Instagram.[3][10][11]
In 2026 she turned 29 and is preparing for her first major acting role, the Hulu thriller series Bachelorette Weekend, while the family's reality show The Kardashians returned for its eighth season on 8 October 2026.[6][7]
Early life
Kylie Jenner was born on 10 August 1997 in Los Angeles, California, to Caitlyn Jenner, who was known as Bruce Jenner at the time of her birth, and Kris Jenner, whose maiden name is Houghton.[1][4] Her father won the decathlon at the 1976 Olympic Games, and her mother later became the manager of her children's careers.[1][3] She has one full sister, the model Kendall Jenner, and eight older half-siblings: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob Kardashian from her mother's first marriage, and Burt, Brandon and Brody Jenner and Cassandra Marino from her father's side.[1][4] Through both of her parents she is of Dutch, English, Irish and Scottish ancestry.[3]
She grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Sierra Canyon School.[1][2] She became known to television audiences at the age of ten when the E! series Keeping Up with the Kardashians began in October 2007, and she appeared in it until the show ended in 2021.[1][3]
As a young teenager she started working on fashion and beauty projects. In 2012, at the age of 14, she and Kendall launched the clothing line Kendall & Kylie in a partnership with the retailer PacSun, and in 2014 the sisters appeared in the music video for PartyNextDoor's song "Recognize".[1][4] In 2017 she starred in her own E! spin-off series, Life of Kylie.[1][3]
Career
Jenner's business career began in 2015, when she launched a line of lip products called Kylie Lip Kits.[1][4] The product, which she has said grew out of her insecurity about her lips, sold out quickly through her social media following, and in 2016 the brand was renamed Kylie Cosmetics and expanded into matte lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner, blush and highlighter.[1][2][3] In December 2016 she opened an online store called The Kylie Shop, and her mother Kris helped found the company in partnership with the manufacturer Seed Beauty.[2][5] In November 2018 Kylie Cosmetics products went on sale at the beauty retailer Ulta.[5]
In 2019 she launched the skincare line Kylie Skin on 22 May, which began to be sold in Europe through Douglas in 2020, and she later added the children's range Kylie Baby.[2][3] In November 2019 she sold a 51 per cent stake in Kylie Cosmetics to the beauty group Coty in a deal worth US$600 million, which was completed in early 2020, and Coty holds 51 per cent of the company while Jenner owns about 44 per cent.[5][11] Soon afterwards Forbes reported, citing documents from the Coty deal, that the company had overstated its own value, which led the magazine to withdraw her billionaire status.[5][12]
She has since expanded into other categories. In 2024 she launched the clothing label Khy and the beverage company Sprinter, a canned vodka soda.[4][11] She has also collaborated with Kourtney Kardashian's wellness brand Lemme on a skin-and-hair gummy supplement and has run seasonal campaigns, including a nostalgic "King Kylie" summer campaign for Dunkin'.[5][11]
Her work in television has continued alongside the businesses. After Keeping Up with the Kardashians ended, she became a star and executive producer of the Hulu series The Kardashians, which premiered in 2022.[3][7] In October 2026 Deadline reported that she will headline and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend, a thriller drama with a straight-to-series order at Hulu, with her sister Kim Kardashian as an executive producer; in the show a bachelorette weekend turns deadly when the bride, played by Jenner, is found murdered in a pool and her closest friends become suspects.[7] It is described as her first major acting role.[7][9]
She is also a fixture of fashion and magazine coverage. In October 2026 she appeared on the cover of Wonderland magazine's autumn and winter issue, wearing an archival Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the spring-summer 2001 collection and photographed by Drew Vickers, and she did not give an interview for the issue.[9] In the issue's coverage she said that if fame disappeared she would miss part of it but would enjoy the next chapter of her life.[9]
Personal life
Jenner has two children with the rapper Travis Scott: a daughter, Stormi, born on 1 February 2018, and a son, Aire, born on 2 February 2022.[1][2] Her relationship with Scott lasted from 2017 to 2023, and in 2023 she began dating the actor Timothée Chalamet; media outlets such as E! Online have followed the relationship closely since then.[1][4][6]
In 2026 she gave several rare interviews about motherhood and family. In August 2026 she told Who What Wear that she wants more children but has made a conscious decision not to have another baby while she is in her twenties, and on her friend Stassie Karanikolaou's podcast Better Half she addressed pregnancy speculation, calling the idea of another baby right now "insane".[8] E! Online also published a rare sit-down interview in which she talks with her children, Stormi, 8, and Aire, 4, and a home video in which she wakes them up with a megaphone in October 2026.[6] She celebrated her 29th birthday on 10 August 2026 with a "princess kitty"-themed party attended by friends and family.[6]
Her social media influence is a major part of her brand. She had more than 390 million Instagram followers at the start of 2026, and her posts, from fitness-brand partnerships to family updates, often receive media coverage.[10] Her business success has also made her a prominent figure in debates about the term "self-made", especially because she was born into a famous and wealthy family and began her career on television.[3][11]
Estimates of her wealth vary. Forbes is cited by several websites at about US$670 million in 2026, while other sources put it between US$700 million and US$750 million; these are unaudited estimates, so they should be treated as approximate.[12]
